Aguaclara is a stunning collection of swimwear and beachwear with a touch of South American flavor. This exotic swimwear is influenced by the riches of the Amazon and its ethnics, the Andes and the Ocean. The designs are reflected in the different animal fur styles, the accessories made of natu l tree stems and tso very sensual and provocative hand-finished weaving and crochet.   The designer, Liliana, was born in Lima , Peru , on January 17, 1964. During her formative years she lived in Lima and Cuzco ( Peru ) and Rio de Janeiro ( Brazil ). After finishing high-school she studied Art Courses at the University of Lima ; then, restless as she was, she moved to Miami where she lived and worked for three years gaining experience at the University of Life . Living in a different country opened her mind to new risks and in 1988, she returned to Lima with some sewing machine heads (the Peruvian government had banned machinery imports at that time) and lots of ideas. She went into partnership with her brother Jorge Villalobos - current Director of Applauzi Peru and Applauzi International Corp. USA - to incorporate Applauzi S.A. ( bathing suits manufacturing). From the beginning, Liliana has been in charge of designing the beachwear, underwear and sportswear. Now married with three children, she travels across the globe seeking fabrics and embellishments for her designs. Liliana is also Director of the Tailoring Committee of the National Industrial Association and gives lectures to different organizations in the same line of business.   For the aguaclara 2007 collection her imagination is inspired by nature .. steamy rainforests and sultry, sensual evenings. Different textures, such as soft leather microfiber, satin and lycra-tulle, are all used in the collection. Sexy one-piece suits are still present and will still be in future collections. Fabrics are imported from Italy , France , Spain and Brazil .   aguaclara prides itself on operating like a big family and is a respected employer within Peru . It is well known through South American countries, the UK and US East Coast and is now attracting interest from all over central Europe, Eastern Europe , Russia , the Middle East, Japan and beyond. With approximately 70 people working in the main factory in Lima they also outsource some of their production to smaller factories in the Peruvian hillsides.   Because of the stunning and dramatic designs aguaclara has been featured on the cover of many influential publications in the US and UK including Miami Ocean Drive Magazine, Closer Magazine, FHM ( Australia and UK ), Heat and many, many more, as well as in the New York Post and other hot international publications throughout the States and Europe
